Group for Home Economics Education

Group for Home Economics Education

Home Economics Education includes courses covering areas such as food and nutrition, textiles and clothing, housing, family-oriented issues, family resource management, child care and development, consuming living, sustainability lifestyles, community bonding, and welfare issues.

These courses are broad and interdisciplinary and are based on practical learning, such as lab and experimental courses, hands-on activities, and in-class practice. Knowledge and skills from such courses enable learners to answer the recurring practical problems of individual and family life. Furthermore, this program aims to encourage students to identify societal concerns and to manage the challenges of living in a diverse, global society. All students who strive to meet these concerns with their knowledge and skills will be welcome in Home Economics Education.
